Designers in Collaboration: Opulent Ritual - a celebration of slow tea
An exciting offering as part of the suite of events during the upcoming DESIGN Canberra Festival, this initiative fits into the Open Studios program. Established in 2014, DESIGN Canberra has built a reputation for itself as the most important event on the Canberra design calendar. It acts as a catalyst for ground-breaking collaborations between educational and cultural institutions, artists, designers, architects, design associations, government, manufacturing and industry at local, regional and national levels.
This collaboration brings together ceramists operating from studios at the Canberra Potters in Watson (operating under the name: SILT); hand-blended and hand-packaged tea blends by Tea Garden Co and Field & Coppice, a Canberra-based botanical design studio.
It promises to be a feast for the senses and a new take on the Open Studio concept.
On the day, guests will be invited to try specialty blended teas by Tea Garden Co. in limited edition ceramic tasting cups. Sweet treats by CherryRipe Café at Watson will be on offer throughout the day and guests will be invited to sit and enjoy the lovely surrounds of the Watson Arts Centre gardens accentuated by the botanical sculptures of Field & Coppice. All bespoke ceramics used in the event will be available for purchase.
